On Monday 5th November 2018 the teams arrived to Copenhagen. Once the introductions were done, we proceeded to share our first dinner and our first impressions together. There we met Mr. Henning Skov, the second headmaster of Langelinieskolen.

On Tuesday morning, we met at Langelinieskolen and we were welcomed by Mr.  Kristian Borg, the headmaster of the school. The next step consisted on a guided tour through the school with some students.

Once it was concluded, we started our first Work Session – the working days were divided into Work Sessions, at Langelinieskolen, and several visits to different schools -which went on after lunch. The last part of this first working day was meant for the presentations of the partner schools and how they deal with digital literacy and inclusion.

This day ended at school with a nice European dinner where we shared traditional food from our respective countries.

Our Wednesday started with an inspirational tour, “Rethinking Schools”, to “Skolen I Sydhavnen”. The headmaster was our guide through this new school and told us about how they worked.

Back to Langelinieskolen we proceeded with our daily work: some time to reflect, and the planning of the first steps of this new project (mostly tasks division, assessment and dissemination). After lunch, we visited the UNICEF centre in Copenhagen, as Langelinieskolen is a Rights Respecting School.

We spent a lovely “sightseeing” afternoon with Charlotte and Henning, as our tourist guides, till we got to Christiania where we had dinner.

On the 4th day, Thursday, our Work Session was about inclusion in Copenhagen Schools, so in the early morning we visited the Copenhagen Centre for Inclusion in “Øster Farimagsgade Skole”. Some teachers guided us through the school and after they gave us an explanation on how they worked with inclusion.

Back to our school, and once we had lunch, we went on with our daily work.

To end with our working day we had a guided tour of “Kastelsvej 58” (Langelinieskolen primary school). There we were told how they worked with students with hearing impairment and we were showed some of the facilities they had for them.

At night we shared our most atypical dinner as it was within a church, Absalon Kirke, in the meat packing district.

Friday was devoted to some Job Shadowing and the final scheduling of activities for this first project year. So since this moment everything was ready for the next meeting in Greece. When the final evaluations were done our working week concluded.

That night at Cafè Skt. Petersborg, we were “introduced” to the smørrebrød.

On Saturday night, and after a free day touring through Copenhagen and its most emblematic places, it was “Mortens Aften” time. We celebrated the traditional Danish Feast of Saint Martin’s Dinner, at Hennings’place. Our last, but not least, menu was: duck with potatoes, red cabbage and sauce.

So happily we spent an awesome week in Denmark full of interesting and profitable activities, and we accomplished the whole planned agenda thanks to a lovely and hard working great team led by their coordinator Charlotte Rørbøl.

And from this point on, and after we said goodbye, everything is waiting for us in Greece next January. See you soon!!!!
